Linkbot and myRIO/Install Linkbot Libraries and Software on your myRIO

This document will guide you through the necessary steps to enable your myRIO to control Linkbots.

Installation of software onto the myRIO

First, follow these instructions to enable SSH access on your myRIO.

You may use any SSH client, but we recommend using command line tools. In Windows, perhaps the easiest way to get a command line with SSH tools built in is to install git. This will install a program called "Git Bash", which is a terminal program ready to do various SSH and Git related tasks. In Mac and other Unix based operating systems (like Linux), you probably already have all of the tools necessary to accomplish these tasks. Simply open a system terminal for the remainder of the instructions.

Download and save the following files to your desktop:

myrio_liblinkbot-0.1.1-Linux.sh (md5sum = 8cc8c86e22cc772d033accab9d8552e3)

baromesh-daemon-0.2.0_armhf.sh (md5sum = 79ab62c0da91aa4ce5722857d1bc35cc)

Next, you will need to copy them to the myRIO. First, you will have to figure out what IP address your myRIO has been assigned. The easiest way to do this is from within Labview. When you create a new myRIO project, it will show you the IP address of the myRIO. In my case, the IP address was "10.1.10.180".

Open your Git Bash terminal and type the following commands, replacing "10.1.10.180" with the IP address of your myRIO. If you are asked for a password, the default admin password on the myRIO is a blank string (just press "Enter" without typing anything else).

cd ~/Desktop
scp myrio_liblinkbot-0.1.1-Linux.sh admin@10.1.10.180:
scp baromesh-daemon-0.2.0_armhf.sh admin@10.1.10.180:
ssh admin@10.1.10.180
./myrio_liblinkbot-0.1.1-Linux.sh --prefix=/usr/local --exclude-subdir
./baromesh-daemon-0.2.0_armhf.sh --prefix=/usr/local --exclude-subdir
/usr/local/bin/baromeshd &

You are now ready to run Linkbot subVIs! If you restart your myRIO, you may need to log in and re-start the baromesh daemon program. To do this, type the following commands in your command prompt:

ssh admin@10.1.10.180
/usr/local/bin/baromeshd &

Installing the myRIO Toolkit for Labview

Download the Linkbot toolkit from here. Once it is downloaded, double-click on the file. This should start Labview's built in package manager. Follow the instructions to install the package.
